K9s For Warriors has been recognized by leading charity auditors for our integrity and financial responsibility.

The suit, filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, claims the organization violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and demonstrated disability discrimination toward Alyssa Anderson, who worked for the San Antonio location of the Florida-based nonprofit until last year.

The majority of our K9s are rescued from shelters or surrendered by their owners. In saving these animals from abandonment or euthanasia, we give them purpose. Each pair who graduates from our program represent two lives saved – the Service Dog and the Warrior.

Description. Based on its 2022 tax return, we calculate that K9s for Warriors spent 79.6 percent of its $25.8 million budget on programs and 20.4 percent on overhead. This meets our recommendation that a charity spend at least 75 percent of its budget on programs.
